Arthur C. Ferguson - Social Sciences

Three departments reside in the Ferguson Social Sciences Building: History, Sociology and Criminal Justice, and Political Science. In addition to these departments, the Mayo College is located in the Ferguson Building. The Mayo College is a student-centered college within the university designed to help students get the most out of their college experience. This is achieved through programs like the Freshman Leadership Class and international studies opportunities.

The Department of History is located on the first floor, in room 111. A&M-Commerce offers undergraduate and graduate programs in history.

Located in room 210, the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice offers undergraduate degrees in both fields. A master’s degree in sociology is also offered.

The Department of Political Science can be found in room 152. Several classrooms throughout the building employ multimedia technology to allow students to experience a rich learning atmosphere.

A computer lab in room 311 offers students a place to work on research papers or search the internet for information. There is also a student lounge on the first floor, with vending machines and a comfortable study environment.
