ASTR 1412 (PHYS 1412) - Introduction to Stars and the Universe (Four semester hours; 3 lecture, 2 lab)

A descriptive survey of astronomy with emphasis on modern developments in stellar and galactic astronomy and the role of physical science in the measurement and interpretation of astronomical data. Included are studies of structure and evolution of stars and galaxies and of current cosmological theories. One two-hour laboratory or night telescope viewing session per week.
