The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers undergraduate courses that certify individuals to teach in the secondary school. Students should major in their teaching fields. Contact the department of your major (or teaching field) or the College of Education and Human Services Advising Center for advising. Students with
bachelor’s degrees who want to teach should consult the Graduate Catalog for requirements leading to certification.

The department, futhermore, offers the following master’s degrees and majors: the Master of Science, Arts, or Education degree with a major in Secondary Education. Students in the Alternative Certification program, may count some of their coursework toward requirements for master’s degrees. Consult with the department
head for additional information.
