Faculty
employed at least half time on a regular monthly salary basis
(not hourly employees) in a teaching position by any public institution
of higher education, with an effective date of employment on the
12th class day of a regular semester or the 4th class day of a
summer term, may pay the same tuition as a resident of Texas for
themselves, their spouses, and their dependent children, regardless
of the length of residence in the state. To be entitled to pay
the resident tuition fees, such employees must submit, prior to
the time of each registration, a statement certifying employment
in a teaching position from the Director of Human Resources or
a designated representative of the institution of higher education
by which they are employed (Reference: Vernon's
Codes Annotated, Education Code, Section 54.059.)
