The new $28 million Science & Technology Center will be the
first solely academic building to be constructed on campus in more
than 25 years.
Target date for completion of the project is the Fall 2005 Semester
with the first use of the building for students and faculty coming
in the Spring 2006 Semester.
The 110,000 square foot, three-story Science & Technology
Center will feature up-to-date laboratories for biological and
agricultural sciences as well as chemistry, physics, and computer
science.
Currently under construction as part of the new Science and Technology building on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce is a state of the art planetarium. The planetarium is scheduled to open in January of 2006. It will consists of a 40-foot tilted dome with a Digistar 3 projection system and will seat approximately 87 individuals. This system will immerse the visitor in a space environment surrounded by the beauty of the night sky. Additionally a new portable STARLAB is available for area visitors.
