Edwin “Kleker” Reames (BBA ’82) has recently taken a position as channel sales manager for Intrusion.com, headquartered in Richardson, TX. This firm manufactures and markets network security solutions for commercial and government clients. He and his wife, Julie, have three children, ages fifteen, four and two, and they reside in Prosper, TX.

Gary Hurse (BS ’83) has been selected by the North Plains Electric Cooperative (NPEC) Board of Directors as its new general manager. He comes to the Panhandle from Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative in Kaufman. NPEC distributes electricity in Hansford, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Roberts and Wheeler counties. He and his wife, Virginia, have three children and have relocated to Perryton.

Ernie L. Brown, Jr. (BS ’84) recently separated from the USAF after 14 years flying the F-15E Strike Eagle, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and T-37. He is currently employed as a 737 first officer for Continental Airlines. He has been married to Linda Teal Brown (BA ’82, MA ’88) for 16 years and they have recently relocated to The Woodlands, TX.

1985-1989
Sam E. Loy, IV (BS ’85) was recently promoted to the position of chief architect of the Austin office of Quidnunc, an international digital business consultancy. In this role, he will be returning to his hometown to lead the company’s regional business development efforts and extend relationships with existing clients. Prior to assuming his new post, he was a project architect in the company’s New York office, where he was involved in the Poultryfirst.com account. He founded Austin-based Lorien Multimedia, a digital media service bureau, specializing in the development of custom multimedia applications and digital media conversion services.

Rena Penney (BS ’85) has been named director of a new statewide volunteer service program, Corps aCross Texas. Corps aCross Texas is a collaboration of the Texas Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service and the American Red Cross, and whose goal is to provide disaster relief and community disaster education through American Red Cross chapters in local communities.

Glenn Yates (BS ’85) recently married Wendy Hutson and relocated to the Houston area.
Gayle Ann Gordon D’Andrea (BS ’86, MS ’88) moved to Virginia in 1991, and married Stephen D’Andrea in February 1999. She currently teaches sociology at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA, where she recently served a four-year term as program head for the Social Sciences Division.

Jonathan Hooper (MM ’86, MM ’88) recently presented a trombone recital at Tarleton State Univesity’s Dora Lee Langdon Cultural and Educational Center. He is currently director of bands at Tarleton State University where his duties include musical direction of the Tarleton Wind Symphony, Chamber Winds, Low Brass Studio, Instrumental Conducting, Orchestration and music education courses. Prior to his current appointment, he directed bands in the Texas public schools in Birdville, Wylie and Azle.

Lori Sanders Malone (BS ’86) is currently working on her master’s degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce and substitute teaching for the Garland ISD, while working with the Lister Elementary PTA. She previously taught fourth-grade at Galena Park ISD and Kemp, TX, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 1988. She is married to Michael Malone and they have three children, Jennie, Mollie, and Donnie.

Paul G. Weaver (BS ’86, MS ’90, MS ’92) was recently named Counselor of the Year by the Texas School Counselor Association. He is the director of counseling and guidance at Plano Senior High School, Plano, TX, where he has been employed for 15 years and has served as an elementary, middle school, and senior high school counselor.

Lyle Draper (BS ’88) is working for Volunteers of America of Northeastern and North Central Ohio, as director of Homeless Services. He previously was in Gillette, WY, where he was the program director for the community corrections center with Volunteers of America of Wyoming. In his present position, he is the director of an 85-bed shelter in Cleveland, where emergency shelter, transitional living, Veterans’ Administration services, and street outreach programs are offered.

Katherine Jane Green (MED ’88) is the band director at Thomas Jefferson High School in the Federal Way School District in Washington state. Previously, she was at Kentwood High School for eight years. In the spring of 2000, all three concert bands received superior ratings at league contest, and the jazz ensemble was second runner-up for their division at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival at the University of Idaho. She and her partner enjoy traveling to Texas by RV yearly. In her spare time, she plays bass trombone for the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra and euphonium in the Highline Community Band.

Jeff Griffin (BS ’88) has been named director of information technology for Tarrabrook, a national residential and commercial land development company.

Glenn Barfield (BS ’89, MED ’93) is the assistant principal, technology coordinator and attendance coordinator at Atlanta High School, Atlanta, TX. He was formerly employed at Liberty-Eylau ISD as a coach.

G. Stephen McBride (BS ’89, MS ’92) and Karen McPherson McBride (BS ’94) reside in Commerce with their two children. He is the head track and field and cross-country coach at Bishop Lynch Catholic High School in Dallas. She is a physician recruiter and provider-relations representative for Aetna U.S. Healthcare in Dallas.

1990-1994
Ron Bindi (MS ’90) is teaching Kindergarten through sixth-grade physical education in Roseville Community Schools, Roseville, MI.

Mary Elizabeth Bradford (BS ’90) married Stephen Anthony Gehlsen on October 14, 2000 in Gainesville. She is employed at the Financial Source Group, Inc., in Irving.

Mark R. Von Schwarz (BS ’90) is vice president of engineering for Raytheon’s Aircraft Integration Systems (AIS). He is responsible for managing AIS’s 1,500 engineers located at the Greenville, Waco and Lexington, KY, facilities. He is married to Robin Wittenbrink Von Schwarz (BS ’98). They have four children and reside in Commerce.

Angie Hawkes Craig (BA ’91) and Rob Craig (BS ’93) announce the birth of their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Louise Craig (Katie-Beth) on September 2, 2000. She weighed 6 lbs., 9 oz., was 19 inches long, and was welcomed home by big brother, Ian Craig, who is 3 years old.

James Kennon (Ken) Elliott (BA ’91) was recently promoted to captain, flying the SAAB 340 aircraft for American Eagle. His wife, Alexandria P. Elliott, works as national media relations manager for Neiman Marcus in Dallas. They celebrated the birth of their first child, Carter Kennon Elliott, on June 4, 2000.

Kyle Mackey (BS ’91) teaches physical education and coaches at Silsbee High School, Silsbee, TX. He has also taught for the Lumberton ISD. He is married to Michelle Mackey (BSIS ’98). She teaches for the Kountze ISD and they have three children.

David W. Trammell (BS ’91) is the business manager for eBusiness Applications Unit, Nortel Networks. He has received his master’s degree and graduate marketing certificate and his interests include traveling, reading, and technology.

Diane Barry (BSIS ’92) is teaching social studies, math and science at Weimar Junior High, Weimar, TX. She has been teaching for eight years.
Meredyth Ashley Purdy (BA ’92) recently completed a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Judge Harold C. Abramson, United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. She is now an associate at the law firm of Haynes and Boone, LLP, in the business reorganization and bankruptcy practice group of the finance section.
Bridgett Lindeman Cobb (BS ’93), an instructor in the health and physical education department at Armstrong Atlantic State University, and husband, Ross, announce the arrival of their daughter, Jordyn Renee Cobb, born on July 12, 2000. They live in Savannah, GA.

Greg Priest (BS ’93, MS ’95) has been named assistant men’s golf coach at the University of Texas at Austin.

Matthew Mumford (BS ’94) was recently promoted to applications development manager for the NSI Chemicals Group, located in Atlanta, GA.
1995-2000

David Aguilar (BS ’95) is teaching integrated physics and chemistry and also coaching girls basketball at Mexia ISD, Mexia, TX. He has taught for five years.

Jeanne Jordan (BA ’95, MS ’97) is the assistant director for residence life at Marymount University.

Les Fout (MS ’96) was recently the guest speaker at the United Way kickoff luncheon in Kilgore. He currently works for the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast as a combined federal campaign coordinator, a job he has held since August of 1999.

Rodney L. Dittmar (BS ’96) married Renee M. Allender on September 2, 2000 in Arlington. He is a music educator with the Dallas Public Schools. The couple resides in Seagoville.

Vicki B. Harris (MED ’96) has relocated back to Texas and is general manager of major accounts, Central Region, SCT Global Education Solutions.

Amy Waldrop Edwards (BS ’97) has joined a family practice clinic in Glen Rose, TX, after graduating from the physician assistant program. She is married to Mason Edwards (BS ’97), a science teacher and coach at Venus High School.

Daryl R. Faulks (BS ’97) is currently in his third year of teaching social studies at Del Valle High School in the Austin area. He is also the head coach for boys’ cross-country and soccer.

James Mills (BS ’97) is a field systems technician for the Greater Washington Interconnect.
