Morris Recreation Center director Kayla
Peak (EDD ‘95) honors Dr. Jim Stahl, who opened the
Zeppa Recreation Center in 1976. The Morris Recreation Center
is built on the site of the old Zeppa. Stahl served as director
of the Zeppa until his retirement in 1997. “It’s
easy to follow in a great man’s footsteps,” Kayla
said.

Jerry & Marilyn Morris share a smile

and Chancellor Howard Graves. Morris said, “Amidst the
vicissitudes of life, there are lots of high moments. I want
you to know this is one high moment.” Morris was the
University’s ninth president, serving from 1987 to ’97.
