Mina Martin (BS ’86, MS ’88) has joined the staff of Baylor
Medical Center at Garland as volunteer services and guest relations
coordinator.
Kyle L. Roberts (BA ’86) is sales representative for The
Western and Southern Life Insurance Company in Arlington, TX.
Beth A. Winters (BA ’86) was recently hired by Lockheed
Martin, IMS as a career specialist. She will be responsible for
administering food stamp and FANF employment programs in Lamar County.
Gentry “Ace” Little (BS ’87) works for KCLE, Country Gold,
1120 AM radio station in Cleburne. He is in news and sports.
Helen Martin (BS ’87, MED ’89), a teacher at Travis Junior
High School in Paris, TX, has been named one of three finalists
for Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year. The winner will be announced
in April 2001 by the Council of Chief State School Officers.
Jim Woodruff (BBA ’87), an investment representative with
six years experience in the financial-services industry, recently
moved to Ballinger to take responsibility for the Edward Jones office.
Prior to this position, he was a financial advisor at The Partners
Group. He and his wife, Laurie, have two children, Riley, six, and
August, four.
Dean R. Butler (BS ’89) is an account executive in the
National Accounts Division of Travelers Insurance in Dallas, TX.
Carla D.White Pratt (BA ’89) was recently appointed to
a tenure track position on the faculty at Penn State’s Dickinson
School of Law. She practiced as a corporate litigator for several
years before joining the faculty at Penn State, where she teaches
Legal Ethics; Contracts; and Race, Racism and American Law.
Mark Smith (MS ’89) recently joined Northlich Advertising,
Cincinnati, OH, as senior art director.
Leonard “Lee” Topping (BS ’89) works in Littleton, CO,
at Jones Radio Network, a country music station, as host of a national
radio program. The show is broadcast on 110 stations to 12 million
listeners.

Nancy I. Lopez (BA ’90) is hospital representative, U.S.
Human Health, Merck & Co., Inc., in McAllen, TX.
Julie Dove (BA ’91, MA ’93) is label sales and service manager
for Mediabase 24-7, located in Nashville, TN.
John Fitch (BS ’91) is the owner of his own business, Fitch
Memorials, in Mt. Pleasant, TX. He is married to Dee Ann Kennington
Fitch (BS ’91). She teaches second-grade in Pittsburg, TX. They
have a daughter, Claire, who is four years old, and a son, Ryan,
born in January, 2001.
Wendy Robinson Gruver (BS ’91, MS ’94) is the new director
of assessment services at A&M-Commerce. Her husband, Eric
(BA ’91, MS ’95), is an instructor in the History Department at
A&M-Commerce. The couple has been married for 11 years and they
have a 2-year-old daughter, Emily. They reside in Campbell, TX.
Jill Lain (BS ’91) is manager of Media Relations for RadioShack
Corp. in Fort Worth.
Kim Bush (BBA ’93), associate director of the Center for
Professional Development, based in the College of Business and Technology
at A&M-Commerce, has been named to the Advisory Board for the Council
on Management and Executive Development. She will be serving a four-year
term on the board.
Rodney Fausett (MED ’94) was recently named Outstanding
Principal of the Year for Region VIII. He will be recognized at
the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals workshop on
June 12-14, 2001 in Austin. He is principal at New Boston Middle
School and is the first person to win the award twice in the ten
years Region VIII has recognized campus administrators. He was named
Assistant Principal of the Year while at North Lamar High School
in Paris.
April Kuhl (BSIS ’94) began as a national professional
development consultant for Rigby Education on January 1, 2001. She
taught for the Mt. Pleasant ISD for 10 years prior to this position.
Jeanie Rushing (BS ’94) has written a play, “Noises Off,”
which has been selected for performance at the National Thespian
Society meeting in Lincoln, NE during the spring of 2001.

Dr. Carol Francois
Carol Francois (EDD ’95) began as associate superintendent-administrative
services for the Dallas ISD on January 3, 2001. Her responsibilities
include creating and implementing a blueprint to improve student
performance, encourage and nurture teachers and ensure the district’s
compliance with Texas guidelines for public schools. Prior to this
position, she was the associate commissioner for the education of
special populations at the Texas Education Agency.
Darnisha Reed (BS ’95, MS ’99) was recently promoted to
director of the Gear-Up Program at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
The program’s mission is to provide educational development, training
and leadership to low income, first generation middle school youth.
She was previously employed as an admissions counselor at the University
for five years.
Aimee M. Gheen Bartis (BS ’96) is currently working on her
teaching certification in technology. Her husband, Ryan E. Bartis
(BS ’97), is a construction superintendent for J. T. Turner Construction.
They reside in Rockwall, and welcomed son Samuel Paul Bartis on
November 28, 2000.
Brigitte Gerrald Holloway (BBA ’96) and husband, John Holloway,
announce the birth of their son, John Matthew Holloway, on December
3, 2000. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19-inches long.
Berri O’Neal (BS ’96, MS ’98) was recently appointed as
the director of Marketing and Recruitment for Universities Center
at Dallas.
Dr. Florette Jones Reven (EDD ’96) was recently named the
2000 recipient of the Barry B. Thompson Service Award at Tarleton
State University. She is an assistant professor in the Department
of Curriculum and Instruction at Tarleton.
Chris Roberts (BS ’96) and Staci Crumley Roberts
(BS ’94) proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Karley Michelle,
on February 5, 2001. She weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz., and was 20-1/4
inches long.
Steven W. Visage (BS ’96) spent two months last year traveling
through 12 European countries. Prague, Budapest, and Paris were
the most enjoyable cities he visited. One highlight was attending
a Mass by Pope John Paul II. His is now living and working in Breckenridge,
CO, and skis about 80 days per year.
Taj Ahmad Eldridge (BA ’97), former member of Kappa Alpha
Psi Fraternity, recently received his master’s degree in public
policy and is working on his doctoral degree in socio-economics
and educational policy analysis. He has also recently published
a book by Mile 7 Press, dedicated to human rights in education and
economics. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Jamee Lynette Green (BS ’97) married Judson Todd Hogan on
November 11, 2000 in a candlelit ceremony at sunset, on the beach
in Apalachicola, FL. The couple will reside in Tallahassee, FL,
where she is employed by Tallahassee Motor Company.
Trenton Doyle Hancock (BFA ’97) recently presented “Artist
Talk” at McKinney Avenue Contemporary in Dallas. Two of his artworks
are in a group show by Flatbed Press of Austin, currently at McKinney
Avenue Contemporary. Early in 2000, he exhibited in the 2000 Biennial
Exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, NY,
and in Out of the Ordinary at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston.
Robert Matthew “Matt” Margot (BSCJ ’97) is a juvenile probation
officer for Hunt County. He married Kelly Cassell (Former Student)
on October 28, 2000. She teaches mathematics at Greenville Middle
School.
Jandy Thompson (BS ’97) recently accepted a position in
commercial real estate with the John Bowles Company as director
of property management. She is responsible for the acquisitions,
cash management and facility maintenance for three Class A office
buildings. She currently serves on The Texas A&M University-Commerce
Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Community Service
Committee for Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). Through
this association she is pursuing a Real Property Administrator designation.
She is also the collegiate liaison for the SW Dallas Chapter of
Alpha Phi.
Heather Zehm (BSIS ’97) has relocated to Minnesota with
her family. She is teaching, bartending and taking graduate classes
in professional leadership and administration.
Aaron Adair (MA ’98) has been named the director for this
year’s alumni summer musical, State Fair, at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Tiffany L. Hall (BPA ’98) has worked for TXU Business Services
since 1998. She has a nine-month old son, Terrell Dominique Hall.
Rhonda E. Billingsley (BSW ’99) is working in Dallas with
Child Protective Services as an ongoing/legal caseworker.
Jon Eric Nordin (BS ’99) married Laura Kathleen Bailey
(Current Student) on December 16, 2000 in Greenville. He is a history
teacher and head baseball coach for the Caddo Mills ISD and she
is pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies at A&M-Commerce.
Wendy McNeal (BSW ’00) recently began duties as outreach
caseworker at Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeast Texas. Her responsibilities
include coordinating youth mentoring in Hopkins and Delta Counties.
Reba Jernigan Powers (EDD ’00) has been named to the “Who’s
