A&M-Commerce to Offer Courses at Collin Higher Education Center in McKinney
Commerce, TEXAS – The Texas Higher Education Board approved the Collin Higher Education Center in McKinney that will now allow students to earn a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree in Collin County beginning Spring 2010.
Texas A&M University-Commerce, along with Dallas Baptist University, Texas Woman’s University, the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas have all partnered with Collin College, a two-year school, to teach courses at the new facility. Each college will be responsible for different areas of education.
Freshman and sophomore classes will not be available at the Collin Higher Education Center, but will be taught at Collin College’s Central Park, Preston Ridge and Spring Creek campuses. Students can then apply for transfer to CHEC and take the remaining junior and senior-level courses.
Construction for the new facility is currently underway at the intersection of Central Expressway and Highway 121 in McKinney, and is set to open in January.
