Undergraduate
All-level Certification:
A major in special education with an all-level teaching certificate provides students with the knowledge and ability to work in special education from early childhood to high school levels.Supplemental Certification:
For students majoring in other content fields, courses leading to supplemental certification in special education is also available. This involves 18 semester hours in generic special education courses and would certify the student to teach in both general and special education settings.A Minor in Special Education:
For careers in human services and other areas outside teaching, we offer a minor in special education (21 semester hours) which could support majors in psychology, sociology, social work, criminial justice, public relations, technology, human resources and others.Graduate Program
We offer several options for a Master's(minimum 36 semester hours):
- with no certification
- with all-level generic special education certification
- with education diagnostician certification
Course work for teaching students with emotional/behavioral disorders, homebound, and special education counselor are also available.
