MASTER’S CERTIFICATE IN
CRIMINAL JUSTICE MANAGEMENT
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice announces that it has created a special ONE WEEKEND per month program in which graduate students can obtain a Master’s Certificate in Criminal Justice Management.
Graduate students can choose any four courses from the list below to complete the program:
-
CJ 514 Family Violence
-
CJ 530 Seminar in Crime and Delinquency
-
CJ 531 Contemporary Issues in Criminal Law
-
CJ 568 Seminar in Corrections
-
CJ 597 Police Management
-
CJ 597 Police Civil Liability
Our unique format is intended to help the working professional quickly complete the 4 courses needed for the Master’s Certificate in Criminal Justice Management for advancement and promotion purposes. For those who are interested in teaching Criminal Justice at the Community College or University level
the usual minimum requirements are a master's degree with 18
graduate hours in the subject area the person desires to
teach. If an individual was interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in our Department the hours taken in the Master’s Certificate program could be applied towards the regular Master’s degree which takes a total of
30 hours for Option I (Thesis) or 36 hours for Option II
(Non-Thesis).
Graduate students would be welcome to use our $12 million dollar Recreational Center which has a climbing wall, pool with water fall, in-door and out-door basketball courts, tennis courts, jogging trails, and top-of-the-line exercise equipment. Such a program offers you the opportunity to get graduate credit, advance your career, and take a relaxing weekend off as well.
