Good Standing Rule
This policy defines good standing for all undergraduate students enrolled at Texas A&M University-Commerce effective August 1, 1996.
Undergraduate Students
- Entering students, first time enrollees or transfers who have been fully admitted (without any type of probation provision or restriction) will be considered in good standing.
- With the exception of students designated in the section four, a student is in good standing if, and only if, he or she has a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 and is free of the following tags: academic suspension, provisional status, and diciplinary suspension.
- First-time university students who have been fully admitted will be considered in good standing for the first fall and spring semesters of enrollment, unless their records are tagged for one of the reasons listed in section 2.
- A student who has been placed on academic suspension will not be considered in good standing, regardless of whether the student is allowed to re-enroll, until the student attains a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher.
- The Dean of Enrollment Management is responsible for the good standing designation and reporting.
Graduate Students
- For good standing status, a graduate student must maintain a 3.0 GPA and no more than three courses with grades less than a B and be in compliance with ethical and professional standards as determined by the student's academic department.
- When a graduate student does not satisfy the conditions reflected in (1.), the Graduate School will implement the provisions of academic probation and suspension.
