"The Dr. William L. Crabtree Tennis Courts

As a long time professor of physical education and tennis coach (1960-1978), Coach Bill (Doc) Crabtree established a tradition of success in tennis at the university, winning twelve Lone Star Conference championships, two National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national titles and three men's singles and doubles titles after taking his team to eleven NAIA playoffs. The NAIA named him coach of the year in 1976."

The courts opened and were dedicated to him fall 2006.
