The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is a primary organization with which the student should become familiar. This organization is nationally representative of school psychology and professional interests. The NASP journal is the School Psychology Review. Student membership is available. Students in School Psychology are strongly urged to join the Texas Association for School Psychologists (TASP) as a student member and become an active participant in the organization. TASP has a significant bearing on the role and function of school psychologists in Texas, job opportunities and professional development. APA
The American Psychological Association (APA) is a national organization representing all of the disciplines of psychology (e.g. clinical, school, counseling, etc.). Division 16 of APA represents School Psychology. The APA journal is the School Psychology Quarterly. Student affiliate membership is less expensive than professional membership and strongly recommended.
