The Psychology Clinic at Texas A&M - Commerce is a training facility in which master's level students receive supervised practical experience in assessment, intervention, and consultation. Students seeking licensure as school psychologists, psychological associates, or those desiring certification as educational diagnosticians, spend from one to three semesters working in the clinic as they near the end of their formal training. Many students take the opportunity to close their clinic experience with a field-site placement, working under the joint supervision of a clinic supervisor and a licensed/certified professional in the field. The Psychology Clinic operates in conjunction with the Community Counseling Center, which is the pedagogic arm of the doctoral program in counseling. The clinic's mission: To provide applied experience for graduate students in psychology, special education, counseling, and social work that emphasizes quality service to the public and university community, as well as a deep respect for the humanity and circumstances of its clients, the developing strengths and abilities of its trainees, and the fundamental principles that can help people solve their problems and move toward more fulfilling lives.
