Department of Political Science - Scholarship Criteria, 2009-2010

Political Science and Public Service Scholarship ($500)

To be eligible, applicant must be an incoming transfer student and must be a Political Science major.  The applicant must not have completed more than six hours at TAMU-C.   Applicant must submit an essay explaining why you plan to major in political science and listing any other relevant activities, projects, awards, or achievements. Applicant must submit a complete application form and one letter of recommendation. Award to be determined by 75% essay and 25% letter of recommendation.

Claude V. and Ethel A. Hall Scholarship ($250)

To be eligible, applicant must be a junior political science major already enrolled at TAMU-C who has completed at least 12 hours of upper division political science course work with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all their Political Science coursework.  Applicants must submit a complete application and an essay describing their service activities to the department, university, and community.  Award to be determined 50% by GPA and 50% by essay.

Ralph Hall Lifetime Achievement Endowment ($200)

To be eligible, applicant must be a junior political science major already enrolled at TAMU-C who has completed at least 12 hours of upper division political science course work with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all their Political Science coursework.  Applicants must also submit a complete application and a one page personal statement demonstrating their strong desire to be involved in national affairs.  Award to be determined 50% by GPA and 50% by personal statement.
