Dr. JoAnn DiGeorgio-Lutz
Dr. JoAnn DiGeorgio-Lutz is an Associate
Professor of Political Science at Texas A&M University-Commerce
where she teaches courses in International Relations and
Comparative Politics focusing on the region of the Middle East.
She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in
December 1993. Her research focuses on foreign policy with a
particular emphasis on the PLO. Currently, her research
interests are focused on the representative relationship between
the PLO and its Diaspora constituency, particularly the
Palestinian refugees. As a firm believer in experiential
education, she and her students regularly participate in
inter-university simulations such as the Southwest regional
Model Arab League. She serves as faculty advisor to student
organizations on campus and she has received numerous
university-wide awards for teaching and service. She has
presented numerous papers at conferences and her publications
include chapters in edited books on PLO foreign policy and
journals articles. She is a contributor and co-editor of a book
on woman and higher education and editor of a second edition.
Dr. DiGeorgio-Lutz was recently awarded a J. William Fulbright
Scholarship and she will be teaching in Amman, Jordan in 2008.
