Prof. J. Ping Liu, University of Texas at Arlington

Biography
J.P. Liu received a B.A. degree and a M.S. degree from the Central South University in China and a Ph.D. degree from University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands in 1994. He is now an associate professor at the University of Texas-Arlington. Prof. J.P. Liu has experience in materials synthesis and characterization, chiefly in magnetic materials for twenty years. As one of the leading researchers in nanocomposite magnets in the country, he has been Principal Investigators of several federal and state research projects including a DoD/DARPA and a DoD/MURI projects with several institutions nation-wide as the subcontractors. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers (including review articles, book chapters and papers in Nature and other prestigious journals in condensed matter physics, chemistry and materials science). He has given more than 70 invited talks and seminars.
