Abstract : Neural networks are an approach to information processing inspired by biological neural systems. Neural networks are characterized by many simple processing elements connected by weighted pathways. There are many types of networks; they may be generally classified by the pattern of connections among the elements and the way in which the weights are determined. After a brief overview of the field, this talk will focus on the properties and applications of the networks known as Hopfield Neural Networks, introduced by the prominent Cal Tech Physicist John Hopfield.
