Title : Magnetic nanoparticles and their applications

Abstract : Nanotechnology has been applied to produce advanced magnetic materials.

Progress has been made recently in synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles.

We will present our novel approaches to the synthesis of various hard and soft magnetic nanoparticles, including the "salt-matrix annealing" technique which leads to the production of ferromagnetic nanoparticles with well controlled size and shape. Applications of magnetic nanoparticles in nanocomposite magnets, magnetic recording media and biomedicine will be discussed.
