The University Chorale is the premiere choral ensemble selected by audition
from both graduate and
undergraduate students in the Music Department and the campus at large. The
Chorale sings a wide range of substantive literature from all musical
periods. In addition to a full schedule of on campus performances the
Chorale has appeared in convention concerts, workshops presentations and
choral festivals as well as tours within the United States and Europe.
The
Chamber Singers specialize in
chamber vocal music from all periods of music history. The 16-voice ensemble
is noted for its excellence in the choral art. The Chamber Singers
participate in a Madrigal Dinner Concert each year. This event has become a
long standing tradition of the Department of Music.
The TAMU-Commerce Men's Chorus was revived in the Fall of
2009. This ensemble is open to all singers from the Department of Music, the
campus at large and the community. The Men's Chorus performs annual on the
Choral Fall Concert, the "Day of Men Singing" event in the spring and
special events on campus throughout the year.
Opera Scenes productions are held each fall semester. Roles
are secured through auditions in the Department of Music.
