audition required. The Chorale is a large select ensemble that meets three
times a week for 1 or 2 hours credit. The Chamber Singers are a select
ensemble of musicians that also meet for 1 or 2 hours of credit. All university
students may audition for membership in Chorale and/or Chamber Singers.
Choirs at Texas A&M University-Commerce perform frequently on campus
and in the community. The Chorale and Chamber Choir often tour throughout
the region and the United States. The Chamber Choir performs each year
in the annual Feast of Carols.
Music Theater Productions
Each
year, the College of Arts and Sciences produces a musical and an opera
as a joint effort between the music and theater departments. Any Texas
A&M University-Commerce student may audition and participate in these
fine productions. During the winter holiday season, several departments
and organizations combine their talents to produce the annual Feast of
Carols. This madrigal dinner provides a night of food and
fun entertainment that is a popular event in northeast Texas.
