CAMP OVERVIEW

Leadership Camp

The Texas A & M University-Commerce Leadership Camp features some of the top leadership clinicians in the nation, including Frank Troyka, Director of Bands at Berkner High School. Throughout the Leadership Camp, students will learn techniques in both music and marching that will assist them with their future leadership endeavors in the academic year. In addition, leadership campers will be lead through a vigorous exercise routine by renowned exercise guru, Scottie Escobel.

Drum Major Camp

Students attending the Drum Major Camp are given the opportunity to immerse themselves in conducting and leadership techniques in order to prepare themselves for their upcoming seasons. Featured clinician Gary Williams along with the Drum Major Camp staff offer a wide variety of experiences and expertise for the students to learn from. In addition, Drum Major campers compete in the conductors challenge, fostering a healthy sense of competition deigned to motivate and challenge Drum Major Camp participants.

Concert Band Camp

Featuring award winning composer and conductor Sam Hazo, the Texas A & M Commerce Concert Band Camp offers students a wide range of experiences to foster musical growth and exploration. The camp consists of sectionals, masterclasses, and other activities in addition to the normal full ensemble rehearsals, culminating in a concert at the conclusion of the camp.

All State Choir Camp

All State Choir Camp offers participants a variety of experiences to foster musical growth and exploration while preparing students for their upcoming All State choir auditions. The Choir Camp consists of sectionals, masterclasses, and other activities in addition to the normal full ensemble rehearsals, culminating in a concert at the conclusion of the camp.

Piano Camp

The Texas A & M University-Commerce Piano Camp, featuring Dr. Luis Sanchez, offers participants the chance to immerse themselves in piano performance and pedagogy. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that will give the students an enjoyable experience throughout the course of the camp.
