Greetings! Welcome to the Texas A&M University-Commerce percussion studio web-site. The TAMU-C percussion program prides itself on preparing students to become outstanding professionals in their selected careers. Utilizing a well-rounded approach to percussion, students are provided many opportunities here in Commerce. I hope that you will visit the campus soon to attend a concert, recital, or clinic. Best wishes, Brian Zator  The Texas A&M University-Commerce percussion ensemble, under the direction of Brian Zator, has a CD entitled "Sohmon III: New and Unknown Works of Minoru Miki". These pieces were performed at the 2006 PASIC on their showcase performance of the same title. Dr. Zator and the ensemble are proud to bring these unknown works to the public. All pieces are first-time recordings. Pieces included on this album: 1. Marim Dan-dan: highly energetic marimba solo w/ percussion duet (Brian Zator, marimba) 2. Sohmon III: emotionally charged, epic musical journey (Jessica McCormack, soprano; Nathan Ratliff, piano; Brian Zator, marimba) 3. Kincho Daiko: Japanese drumming quartet 4. Yoshitsune Daiko: traditional folk song quartet with shakuhachi soloist, Stan Richardson 5. Cassiopeia Marimbana: marimba quintet arranged from original koto quintet 6. Dotoh: dramatic percussion duet 7. Z Conversion: newest percussion ensemble by Miki for eight players
