Welcome to the Texas A&M University-Commerce percussion studio web-site. The TAMU-C percussion program prides itself on preparing students to become outstanding professionals in their selected careers. Utilizing a well-rounded approach to percussion, students are provided many opportunities here in Commerce. I hope that you will visit the campus soon to attend a concert, recital, or clinic. The Texas A&M University-Commerce percussion ensemble, under the direction of Brian Zator, has released a new CD entitled "Sohmon III: New and Unknown Works of Minoru Miki". Coming off their 2006 PASIC showcase performance of the same title, the ensemble is proud to bring these unknown works to the public. All pieces are first-time recordings.

Pieces included on this album:

1. Marim Dan-dan: highly energetic marimba solo w/ percussion duet (Brian Zator, marimba)

 2. Sohmon III: emotionally charged, epic musical journey (Jessica McCormack, soprano; Nathan Ratliff, piano; Brian Zator, marimba)

3. Kincho Daiko: Japanese drumming quartet

4. Yoshitsune Daiko: traditional folk song quartet with shakuhachi soloist, Stan Richardson

5. Cassiopeia Marimbana: marimba quintet arranged from original koto quintet

6. Dotoh: dramatic percussion duet 7. Z Conversion: newest percussion ensemble by Miki for eight players
