Fall 2009 Jazz Ensemble Audition Information
Jazz Ensemble auditions will be held from 8-noon and 1-5 pm on Monday,
August 31st. Please prepare BOTH excerpt one and excerpt two for your instrument. All players
may be asked to sight read on their audition.
A sign-up sheet for the "blind" audition slots will be available in the band office as of Thursday,
August 27th. (Note: those auditioning on tenor trombone have the option of playing the trombone 1
or trombone 2 part for Excerpt One and Excerpt Two - both parts are included in the PDF for each.)
An optional improvised portion is listed below for guitar, piano and brass/wind players.
