ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Department of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce is pleased to
announce the 2008 High School Piano Summer Camp! This five-day program is
designed for high school piano students interested in immersing themselves in the world
of music learning and performance. In this non-competitive environment each
participating student will receive individual assistance to develop his artistry, overcome
his difficulties and achieve his goals.
Through an intensive schedule of lessons, supervised practice sessions, seminars,
master classes, and performance opportunities, students will receive guidance and
encouragement to advance in their musical careers. Enrollment will be limited to 16
active participants. Each participant will receive 2 private lessons during the five-day
program and have the opportunity to participate in master classes presented by guest
artists. Students will benefit from the morning seminars presented by the faculty and
guest clinicians. In the evenings, students will attend concerts presented by the faculty
and guest artists. The camp will conclude with a final performance featuring all
participating students.
A limited number of observers will be accepted to attend the program. Observers
will be able to attend all seminars, classes, and concerts, but will not be performing in the
