| Freshman Leadership
Class (FLC) FLC is a small group of Freshmen leaders who want to go above and beyond in their leadership role on campus. FLC is a three hour class in which students develop and learn leadership skills that they can use during and after college. | University Honors
Program The University Honors Program recognizes, encourages, and promotes academic excellence. Freshmen Honor students can enroll in a special Honors section of the Freshman Success Seminar that is blocked with one or two honors sections of required University Studies courses. | International
Studies opportunities After completing their freshman year, students who have participated in Mayo College are eligible for a special scholarship to travel and study abroad as part of the university's International Studies Program. http://www7.tamu-commerce.edu/internationalstudies |
| Residential Learning
Communities Students in a residential learning community live on the same floor of a university residence hall with other students who are enrolled in the same Freshman Success Seminar blocked with one or two required university studies courses. They participate in academic activities such as lectures, fieldtrips, and symposia designed especially for their group. They also enjoy a variety of social events, concerts, sporting events, recreational, and other activities with Mayo College students, faculty members, and other university students. |
