How Can I Participate in Mayo College? It's easy! First, apply for admission to the university. Any first-time full-time freshman that meets Mayo College criteria is eligible to be part of Mayo College Program. Then, complete a Mayo College Application Form and return it with a check or money order for $25 payable to Mayo College to the address on the form (non refundable) along with the criteria for admission items. Your name and Social Security number will be provided to Academic Advisement, who will "pre-register" you in a special cluster of classes depending on your being selected for either Freshman Leadership Class, the Honors Program, or the Teacher Leadership Program. If you do not qualify for, or want to be a part of one of these special programs you can still participate in a special cluster of Mayo College classes based on your academic interest and live in Mayo College housing. Your name and social security number also will be given to the Director of Housing indicating that you want to live on one of the specially designated Mayo College floors in one of the University's residence Halls.* Finally, sign up for one of the first two new Freshman Orientation sessions where people will be available to answer your questions, provide academic advising, and help register you in Mayo College classes as well as the rest of your academic schedule. Mayo
College Application *Please note that you must complete a separate application for university housing and pay a deposit to reserve a room. You should indicate on the housing application form that you wish to live in Mayo College housing. The number of rooms reserved for Mayo College students is limited, so it is important to get your housing application and deposit in early. Ultimately all rooms assignments are made by the housing office based on the date the housing application and deposit are received. For more information about Mayo College contact: Dr. William E.
