This is an upper level math course, so proofs are a very important part of what we do.  Our study of Geometry will begin where High School Geometry finishes.  We will focus our attention on subjects that are of interest in Euclidean Geometry that extend the beauty and understanding of topics that are mastered in High School Geometry.  Lastly we will discuss elements on non Euclidean Geometry.  We will attempt to cover all or parts Chapter 1 through 6 and have some supplemental material for the topics we will explore in non-Euclidean Geometry.  You will be assigned a group project from chapters 7 – 11.

We will be using the program Geometer Sketchpad for many of the classroom assignments.  It is included with your textbook and installed in the computers in the Math Lab for your use.

Attendance is very important in this class.  There will be daily assignments and projects handed out in class.  It is your responsibility to find out what you missed if you are absent from any class. Homework will be assigned in class.  No late homework will be accepted without a university authorized excuse.

Homework 10%

Project -10%

3 Tests - 50%

Comprehensive Final - 30%
