The Nexus is located on the 1st floor and is open to student, faculty, staff and limited community use. Community members may use the computers labeled "Public Access Computers".

Help using Microsoft Office 2007
The Guides to the 2007 Office System User Interface are provided by Microsoft to assist you in your transition from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007. These guides are free for everyone's use.
Description
The Nexus is equipped with 78 computers, two scanners and high speed laser printers.
The scanning equipment is self-service. Printing is available in the lab using the LION card. Scanned material can be saved to a CD or USB/Flashdrive. Transparencies and color copies can be done in the Digital Copy Centre located in the MSC.
Software available in the main computer lab includes

- Sketchpad
- SPSS
- Engineering software
- TExcet Examination software
The Nexus computers may also be used to search the library online catalog and all of the Library databases. You may either print, download full text articles, or in some databases, e-mail a copy of an article to yourself.
Logging In
Students
Login as you do for MyLeo using your CWID & Pin/Password. The domain is: STUDENT
If you have changed your password and it will not work try using your CWID with your original birthdate as your PIN.
If this does not work or you do not know your CWID/PIN, please contact Technology Services at 903-468-6000.
Faculty/Staff
Login as you login into your work computer. Most staff will have a Domain login. A Domain login is where you type in Username: lastnamefirstname and a Password. The domain is: CTIS
If you do not know/have a domain login please contact Technology Services at 903-468-6000. Technology Services is located in Room 156 of the Business Administration Building. After 5 PM and on weekends you may call 877-808-1607 for assistance with CWID/Pin/Domain login problems.
Please note that these offices are open Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Policies
- Any use of university computer facilities must be connected with the university’s education mission. The computers in the lab are intended to support students in their coursework. If a person is using a computer for non-coursework related purposes, such as personal e-mail, surfing the internet, or playing games, he or she may be asked to relinquish the computer to someone with a more pressing need.
- Any use of the university computer facilities must comply with any state and federal statues which apply including those which involve computer or software use.
- Any non-university student under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent.
- No addition, modification, copying or deletion of software on a university computer may be carried out without permission by the university authority in charge of that facility.
- NO FOOD is allowed in The Nexus.
- If there is a problem with a computer or printer, bring it to the attention of the lab monitor immediately. DO NOT attempt to resolve the problem yourself.
Printing
Printing to the laser printer requires a LION or vistor card. A visitor card may be purchased for $1.00 at the CMC (Cash Management Center) in the Library and additional money may be added to LION cash accounts and visitors card accounts. For more information about the card click here: LION Card.
Lost Items
Lost items discovered in The Nexus are turned in to the Customer Service Desk where they are held for 30 days. After that time, lost items are turned over to the University Police Department where the items are held for 60 days.
If you believe that you have lost an item in The Nexus during the past 30 days please check with the Customer Service Desk. After 30 days please check with the University Police Department.
Lab Monitors
The Nexus is staffed by lab monitors. If you need assistance, ask a monitor for help. Please be patient if the monitor is helping another student.
