James G. Gee Library is located in Commerce, Texas and is part of the Texas A&M University – Commerce campus. Gee Library is named after Dr. James G. Gee, the fifth president of Texas A&M University – Commerce.

The University Library Mission Statement
The libraries of Texas A&M University – Commerce support the mission of the university by providing quality material, personnel, instruction, and services to the university’s faculty, students, and staff, both on and off campus. Print and non-print material will be selected to support the university’s academic curriculum and the faculty’s research agenda. Library personnel will have the education and experience needed for their positions, and the library will provide opportunities for improvement of staff education and skills. Appropriate instruction on the use of the library will be offered at all levels, freshmen through doctoral and specialized library instruction will be offered to off-campus students and faculty. The library will strive to provide facilities that are clean, comfortable, easy to use, and equipped appropriately for the educational technologies of today and for technologies yet to come. The libraries will provide the home and the materials for any learner who seeks the goals penned by the University’s founder, Dr. William Mayo: "Ceaseless Industry, Fearless Investigation, and Unfettered Thought."
