This survey is your chance to indicate which items are important. The survey replaced the departmental lists of journals which required departments to drop journals in order to add new titles. Periodicals have gone through great changes in the last ten years, especially the large increase of the number of electronic periodicals available in various databases. In 1996 we had a little over 1500 titles available to us in print, with little knowledge of which journals were also electronic. Now, we have over 20,000 titles available to us in one format or both.
The focus of this review is to ensure that we are making the best possible use of our limited resources. Periodicals and electronic database have a higher inflation rate than general society. Vote for your favorite titles while leaving unknown titles alone. As long as you log in under the same e-mail address your votes will still be there if you go back to add further input later. Previous votes are retained enabling you to review the new titles. Requests for new journals or databases not available through any of our journals, periodicals or databases can be requested through the "General Remarks" button. Low use titles with little interest may be cut. We want to maintain important items and add some items to meet new needs.
