| GENERAL PURPOSE & SCOPE The James G. Gee Library collection supports the curriculum and research needs of faculty and undergraduate and master’s students in the subject area of Social Work. The social work curriculum includes human behavior; families; child welfare; social welfare policy and services; social work practice and research; at risk populations; practice with individuals, families, small groups, organizations, communities; social justice; ethics; research; statistics. Undergraduate study includes a major in social work and a minor in social welfare. Graduate study includes the master’s degree. The programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. GENERAL SUBJECT BOUNDARIES The collection development emphasis is on purchasing current material for research and for undergraduate and master’s curricula.
