General Purpose and Scope
The James G. Gee Library collection supports the curriculum and research
needs of undergraduate students and faculty in the Political Science
Department. This also includes non-majors taking classes as electives.
Gee Library also acts as community-based library and resources in the
related collections may also be used by the general public.
The scope of the collection is in a variety of aspects of U.S. and
world politics and paralegal studies. Subject areas
include: U.S. government, Texas government, European political systems,
non-European political systems, public administration and policy,
international/foreign relations, contemporary Middle East, legal research, introductory jurisprudence,
civil procedure, criminal law, business law, law office management,
real estate law, bankruptcy, political theory and philosophy.
The Texas A&M-Commerce Political Programs
The Department of Political Science offers undergraduate programs
leading to B.A. and B.S. degrees. Students may follow a traditional
political science degree or take a degree with an emphasis in legal
assistant studies. A Teacher Education Program is also available leading
to a Bachelor’s degree (Provisional Teaching Certification.)
No graduate degrees are offered.

Subject Boundaries
The collection development emphasis is on purchasing current literature
for the support of undergraduate curricula and research needs of the
