COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT POLICY

GENRAL PURPOSE & SCOPE
The James G. Gee Library collection supports the curriculum and research needs of graduate students and faculty in the subject area of Educational Administration. The educational administration curriculum includes administration of special programs; principalship; superintendency; evaluation and data analysis; public school organization, management and change, finance, politics, human resources, law, ethics, facilities, personnel, business administration, curricular and instructional programs, governance, ethnography, leadership. Graduate study includes master’s and doctoral (Ed.D) degrees. State certification programs at the master’s level include principal (mid-management) and superintendent. The certification programs are accredited by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification.

GENERAL SUBJECT BOUNDARIES
The collection development emphasis is on purchasing current material for research and for master’s and doctoral curricula.
