COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT POLICY


GENERAL PURPOSE & SCOPE

The James G. Gee Library collection supports the curriculum and research needs of undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty in the Department of Agriculture.

Subject strengths include: agricultural economics, agricultural education, agricultural mechanization, animal science, food science, plant and soil science, technical and production agriculture, and horticulture.

The university offers the following degrees, majors, and special programs in this department:
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences
  • Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Sciences and Technology (with or without secondary teacher certification in Production Agriculture Or Ornamental Agriculture)
  • Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business

  • Bachelor of Arts in Agricultural Sciences
  • Bachelors of Arts in Agricultural Sciences and Technology
  • Bachelor of Arts in Agricultural Business

  • Master of Science in Agricultural Sciences (with or without thesis)
  • Master of Education in Agricultural Education

The Department of Agricultural Sciences offers several double major options for the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in an agricultural science discipline and a major in one of the following programs of study: journalism, radio/television, economics/finance, or counseling. The department also supervises undergraduate of pre-professional programs in veterinary medicine and wildlife management.

The collection development emphasis is on purchasing current literature for undergraduate curriculum.
