Computer Labs
Lab Use Guidelines:
Texas A&M University - Commerce provides a variety of computers, computer laboratories, and computer classrooms which support the administrative and academic functions of the university. These include assigned course work, research related degree programs, faculty research and service activities, faculty and staff training and other applications approved by the university. The maintenance and operation of these facilities make significant demands on university resources. To insure that these facilities meet use needs to the greatest extent possible the following policies apply to these facilities:
1. Any use of university computer facilities must be connected with the universitys education mission. The computers in the labs are intended to support students in their coursework. If a person is using a computer for non-coursework related purposes, such as personal e-mail, surfing the internet, or playing games, he or she may be asked to relinquish the computer to someone with a more pressing need.
2.Any use of the university computer facilities must comply with any state and federal statues which apply including those which involve computer or software use.
3. No Addition, modification, copying or deletion of software on a university computer may be carried out without permission by the university authority in charge of that facility.
4. NO FOOD OR DRINK in the lab.
5. If there is a problem with a computer or printer, bring it to the attention of the lab monitor immediately. DO NOT attempt to resolve the problem yourself.
FAILURE OF ANYONE USING UNIVERSITY COMPUTER FACILITIES TO COMPLY WITH STATED UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF USE PRIVILEGES.
