PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Develops, implements and evaluates office policies and procedures.  Integrates policy into operational structure.  Performs long range planning; management and supervision of staff in the Office of Financial Aid.  Oversees all aspects of Federal  Student Loan Programs administrated through the Office of Financial Aid.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.

This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires bachelor’s degree with three to five (3-5) years of demonstrated professional experience in a financial aid environment.  Requires a thorough working knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures.  Must possess extensive administrative and supervisory experience.  Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.  Requires the ability to multi-task completing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.  Must have extensive account reconciliation experience.  Must have working knowledge of automated financial aid processing systems such as Sungard Banner Student Information System and AdvanTG software.  Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:

Supervises Financial Aid Advisors, Financial Aid Assistants, graduate assistants, temporary employees and student workers.
