PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Leads the corporate giving program with particular responsibility for complex projects and requests. Identifies funding sources that match institutional priorities, build relationships, develop proposals, and solicit gifts, including sponsorships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Researches
related corporate giving capacity, interests, and giving history.
2.
Works
as part of an integrated management team to establish overall goals and
strategies for increasing private support of the University.

Builds,
maintains and strengthens positive relationships with corporations and

Plans,
coordinates and implements fund raising initiatives to include the
identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts from
corporations,

Manages
a comprehensive fund raising program for corporate giving and major gifts.
6.
Oversees
the creation and distribution/application of printed and other materials that
support the cultivation/solicitation process including proposals to secure
funding from corporate sources.

to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and
opportunities.

MARGINAL
FUNCTIONS:
Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE
& SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree is preferred. Requires 5 years of direct or directly related experience in fund raising. Knowledge of corporate philanthropic activities needed. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills. Ability to make presentations to senior-level groups and build one-on-one relationships with members of diverse constituencies at all levels of authority.

Ability to move in and around personal work space and to and from other

Normal Cognitive Requirements: Ability to learn, remember, and integrate rules, policies, or practices guiding the performance of an activity.
Normal Speech/Communication Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally with supervisors, co-workers and students to gather information and/or explain procedures.
Normal Written Communications Required: Ability to continually record information such as draft correspondence/reports/documents/policies/procedures, conduct interviews and record information, prepare case narratives, or prepare other lengthy documents using handwritten or mechanical means.
Travel
Demands: Moderate travel
required, ability to travel occasionally for activities such as out- of- town
meetings or training sessions.
Lifting Demands: May lift office equipment and supplies on
occasion.
