Undergraduate Honors Scholarships

The Robin M. Rudoff Honors Endowed Scholarship:

1. To be awarded to a Junior or Senior student who is writing an honors thesis.
2. The student must;
   • Have taken at least one honor class.
   • Have submitted a thesis proposal to the Honors committee that has been approved.
   • Be enrolled in the Honors thesis class in the semester in which they apply for the scholarship.
   • Submit a one 8" X 10" page essay on "Why I Chose to Write an Honors Thesis."
3. The one-page essays will be sent to a scholarship selection committee who will select the recipient.
4. The selection committee will consist of:
   • The Chairman of the Honor's Committee
   • The Director of the Honors Program
   • A graduate who completed an honors thesis and graduated in the honor's program.
   • Two additional members who have demonstrated a long-term, on-going commitments to the Honors Program.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program will award approximately 30 scholarships to students currently attending community colleges or two-year institutions and planning to transfer to four-year institutions in fall 2007. The scholarship awards will provide funding for tuition, room and board, books, and other required fees for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar's bachelor's degree, generally two years. The amount and duration of awards will vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student is $30,000 per year.

Candidates for this scholarship must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their two-year institution. Please see the list of designated faculty representatives. Students may not apply directly to the Foundation for this program.

Alfred H. Nolle Scholarship

The Alfred H. Nolle Scholarship, with a stipend of $1,500, is for the senior year of undergraduate study. For eligibility, a nominee must be a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of the academic year following his or her nomination in the spring. This scholarship is named after Dr. Alfred Nolle, who served as the Society's secretary-treasurer for 41 years. 10 Nolle Scholarships are awarded each year. $3000 Mayo Scholarship

Qualifications:

• Have completed a minimum of 48 hours prior to this semester and, as of the fall 2009 term, still need at least 24 semester hours toward completion of your degree.
• Have a composite GPA of 3.5 or better (transfer and TAMU-Commerce credits).
• Have a GPA of 3.5 or better on all work completed at TAMU-Commerce.
• Have completed at least 15 hours at TAMU-Commerce during the previous calendar year.
• Be enrolled for at least 12 hours at TAMU-Commerce during the 2009 spring semester.
• Be returning to TAMU-Commerce for the two full semesters during the 2009-2010 school year.

NOTE:   You may compete only once for this scholarship, and the award can only be applied toward undergraduate courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce. 
Also, please be advised that if you receive financial aid, winning this scholarship may result in your aid being adjusted.
