Student Rights and Responsibilities
It is the student's right to know:
- what financial assistance is available
- deadlines for submitting applications
- cost of attending the University
- elements of determining financial need and how much need has been met;
- University's refund and repayment policy
- University's satisfactory academic progress policy and terms of student loans.
It is the student's responsibility to:
- review all information about the University
- complete all required application forms accurately
submit all requested information in a timely manner - read and understand forms which require a signature
- comply with all deadlines
- comply with the refund and repayment policy
- maintain a satisfactory level of academic progress and notify lender of any status changes.
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
Students and parents or spouses both provide information
needed to accurately assess a student’s need for financial
aid; however, once a student is enrolled and has submitted their
financial aid information, students are covered under the Federal
Privacy Act of 1974 and information regarding the student is not
released to parents. Parents or spouses wising to receive information
may ask the student to provide the financial aid office a written
statement giving them access to student information. The
student is under no obligation to provide such access.
