Greater Texas Foundation Scholarship Available to
A&M-Commerce/Navarro Partnership Students
The Greater Texas Foundation is making available a new scholarship to students in the Texas A&M University-Commerce/Navarro Partnership program which will be administered through the Navarro College Foundation. Students will be awarded based upon the number of applicants that meet the qualifications and the total amount of funds available. Students must have submitted a FAFSA report for the current academic year, be enrolled in 12 hours with TAMU-C and Navarro and carry a GPA of 2.5. Other requirements are printed in the application itself. The deadline to apply is Friday August 8, 2008 at noon at the A&M-Commerce/ Navarro Partnership offices. We will then forward the applications to the Navarro College Foundation. Awarded funds will first be used toward Navarro College outstanding tuition & fees and then to Navarro College Bookstore accounts. If funds remain after these payments, they will be applied to tuition and fees through Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Texas A&M-Commerce will begin offering the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Midlothian and Corsicana for the Fall 2008 semester. Students may pick up their lower level courses with Navarro College and transfer to the BSBA program in Midlothian or Corsicana. Courses will be offered face to face/hybrid and online. Face to face/hybrids will meet on Tuesday eveings. Contact an advisor today. Financial Aid Entrance Counseling/Orientation For Navarro Partnership Students
Fredrecio Washington, from the financial aid department, will be on our campus to do loan entrance counseling in person on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 10:30am and on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 3:00pm in BC400 auditorium. The university is now requiring entrance counseling to be done in person and may no longer be completed through the web. Please remember that you 2008-2009 financial aid WILL NOT PROCESS until you have attended one of these important meeting. We will also be doing student orientation at the same times.

Elementary Education Fall 2008 Interns
There will be one last intern orientation meeting on August 11, 2008 at 4:00pm in BC400 at the Bain Center. You will receive instructions for beginning your fall internship as well as meeting your field based supervisor. Please make arrangements to be at this very important meeting.
Elementary Education Fall 2008 Interns and Residents
Interns and/or residents not employed by a district will begin the Fall 2008 school year with their assigned public school, participating in new teacher orientation and staff development days unless the district deems otherwise. Interns and/or residents should contact their campus principal to determine which staff development days they are to attend. Interns and/or residents will be in the public school daily for the fall semester until the university calendar for classes begins. Interns and/or residents are to work on their assigned campus the same hours as their mentor teacher until Monday, August 25. Once university classes begin, the regular intern/resident schedule will begin.
