A&M-Commerce Facts
- Established in 1889, Texas A&M University-Commerce is the fifth oldest state university.
- A member of the Texas A&M University System since 1996 and located in Commerce, the university has campuses in Dallas, Mesquite, Navarro College and Midlothian, and conducts classes in McKinney, the Collin County Community College District, and at Northeast Texas Community College.
- Through state-of-the-art telecommunications and internet-based instruction, the university meets the undergraduate, graduate and professional needs of the citizens of Northeast Texas and beyond. The online MBA program has been met with enthusiastic response.
- The university offers more than 100 major areas of study at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels.

- In the new multi-million dollar Science building Biology, Chemistry and Physics undergraduates conduct research alongside graduate students and world-class professors. The state-of-the-art planetarium has had over 50,000 visitors since its opening two years ago.
- The $12 million Morris Recreation Center rivals the fitness centers in large cities.
- The new Sam Rayburn Student Center will open in the Fall of 2008. It will feature the latest technologies and be the focal point of on-campus activities.
- The on campus newspaper, The East Texan, consistently wins awards for journalism integrity, creative writing, photography and graphics design.
- Current enrollment of 8,879 in three colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business and Technology, and Education and Human Services.
- A&M-Commerce ranks fourth in the state in initial teacher production, 2nd in superintendent production and 1st in principal production.
- Ground breaking for the new $23 million music hall will take place in May 2008. • The on-campus Public Radio Station, KETR 88.9 fm, is a 100,000-watt station broadcasts to a 75-mile radius of the university.
