Biography and Research Interests

I received both my undergraduate and master’s degrees in History from A&M-Commerce (then East Texas State University ) in 1991 and 1995, respectively, and left East Texas in 1995 to assume a position teaching history in Harlingen in the Rio Grande Valley .  After four years at Harlingen High School , three as department chair, I returned to A&M-C as the Department’s undergraduate and teacher education advisor.  Although my graduate research and interest was in the Great Depression and New Deal era, I am currently focusing on the history of public education curriculum and national education policy and implementation.
