Pathways to the Doctorate
Fellowship Program
Pathways to the Doctorate is a program dedicated to increase the
number, quality, and diversity of Doctoral graduates across all
disciplines within the Texas A&M University System. The goal
of the A&M-Commerce Pathways to the Doctorate Fellowship Program
is to attract high achieving students within the Texas A&M University
System to pursue their doctorate at A&M-Commerce.
In an effort to attract quality doctoral students from other System
institutions, the A&M-Commerce Graduate School offers Doctoral
Pathways Fellowships. Recipients of these fellowships will recieve:
• $2,000 per year for two years
• Tuition and fees paid by the Graduate School for two years
• One trip to present research results at a professional meeting
Recipients of this award are also eligible to compete for a $1,000
housing scholarship. Eligible participants are students who have
earned either a bachelor’s or a master’s degree from
one of the A&M System institutions (excluding A&M-Commerce)
and plan to pursue a doctoral degree at A&M-Commerce.
To be considered for these awards, a student must be nominated
by a doctoral granting academic department from A&M-Commerce.
Nominations must be received in the Graduate School by April 15,
2008. Please use the Pathways Fellowship Nomination Form. Award
announcements will be made by the end of April 2008.
Recipients of Pathways Fellowships must comply with the following
requirements:
• Enroll in at least 9 graduate credit hours throughout the
course of the fellowship
• Maintain good-standing throughout the course of the fellowship
• Make satisfactory progress toward graduation
