Founded in 1889, A&M-Commerce is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the State of Texas and enjoys the reputation of being a high quality Doctoral/Research Intensive university in the north Texas region. commitment to the ultimate success of our students. In 1996, we joined the Texas A&M University System, which is one of the largest and most prestigious university systems in the United States. As a result, A&M-Commerce has vastly expanded educational and research opportunities for the citizens of the region.

Graduate Studies and Research is the central administrative unit for the master’s, post baccalaureate, and doctoral programs throughout the University. We enroll over 3,400 talented and motivated graduate students.

Through three colleges, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Technology and College of Education and Human Services, our graduate students push the boundaries of excellence in over 44 master's programs, 6 doctoral programs, teacher certification and post baccalaureate programs. Our graduates are employed throughout the United States and beyond as artists, teachers, researchers, administrators, musicians, programmers and leaders in schools, universities, government agencies, businesses and excel as entrepreneurs.

Graduate Studies and Research specializes in “students first” and has an enthusiastic staff of professional advisors who work directly with prospective students from the initial admission process through graduation. With over 160 nationally known graduate faculty and dedicated staff, Graduate Studies and Research is the leading graduate school in East Texas.
