Step 1
For fast and accurate processing, your application should be submitted online(www.fafsa.ed.gov). You will be requested to use your USDOE PIN as your electronic signature. Should you be required to provide parental information, parents should apply for a PIN as well. If you do not remember or do not have your pin, please visit www.pin.ed.gov for a PIN within 48 hrs. You may apply on-line using any of the available A&M-Commerce computer lab facilities.

*Complete the FAFSA as accurately as possible as errors can delay processing. We encourage students to keep copies of all information submitted on the FAFSA.

Step 2
You will receive additional materials from our office approximately 2 wks after online submission of your FAFSA (including all required signatures and full admission to A&M-Commerce) to complete any required documentation such as verification information, etc.

Step 3
Return required/requested forms to the financial aid office. Additional information such as tax information may be requested and should be submitted to the financial aid office as soon as possible.

What Do I Do After I Apply?
After your file is complete in our office, we will complete your file, award aid and send you electronic notification of your award using your official A&M-Commerce leo e-mail address. Other information on how to accept the award and terms and conditions is available. You must accept your award online using MyLeo, complete loan entrance counseling and promissory note (if required) before your aid will be applied to your account. Unaccepted aid is usually cancelled within two weeks.

To decline any portion of the offered amounts, MyLeo allows online modification of awards.

To receive the best possible aid award, make sure your file is complete in our office by April 1st. Changes may occur affecting your eligibility for aid, should this occur you can meet with your advisor and may need to submit information to our office for reprocessing.
