The graduate program in Training and Development prepares individuals to work  as program developers, teachers,  and trainers in  formal and informal settings such as educational institutions, business and industry, community agencies, health care organizations, and continuing and professional education.

Students will learn to analyze training needs as well as design, deliver, and evaluate training programs.

Other job opportunities include:  program designer, training technologist, needs assessment analyst, researcher, transition specialist, career  development advisor, training consultant, and employer marketing.

This 36 semester hour program may be completed on either a full-time or a part-time basis.  Most courses are offered in the evenings or at other times convenient for working adults.

TDEV 510   Utilizing Effective Instructional Techniques
TDEV 511   Managing the Instructional Environment
TDEV 527   Developing Instructional Resources
TDEV 552   Introduction to Training and Development
TDEV 553   Management Development for Educators and Trainers
TDEV 597   Theories of Adult Learning
TDEV 597   Survey Design and Assessment
HIED 595   Research Methodologies

Plus, twelve (12) semester hours of graduate level electives approved by the major advisor for Training and Development.

An approved sequence of at least twelve (12) hours within a second subject area may be designated on the graduate record as a minor.

Graduate courses within an approved certification sequence are often utilized as electives within the MS in Training and Development.
