How do I get admitted to the Doctoral Program?

Contact The Graduate School office at 903-886-5161 and request an application and current catalog.  The catalog and application can also be found on-line at http://www.tamu-commerce.edu.

Who do I talk to about becoming part of the program?

Contact Priscilla Nichols, 903-886-5537, Priscilla_Nichols@tamu-commerce.edu.  She will send you electronic information and schedule you for the doctoral writing section.

What are the requirement to be accepted into the program?

The application must be submitted to The Graduate Office along with official transcripts, official scores on the GRE and four references.  The  reference forms will come from the graduate office with the application.

Do I have to have a master's degree to apply ?

No.  You can do your master's work while also working on your doctorate, or you can proceed directly to the Ed.D. without earning a masters degree..

Is there financial help available for tuition and housing ?

Yes.  There are several scholarships available for tuition and also a housing scholarship for doctoral students.  Student's may also apply for financial aid, grants, work-study programs, and/or on-campus employment.  For more information regarding financial aid call 903-886-5096 or http://sus.tamu-commerce.edu/sus/FinancialAid/

When can I start taking classes?

Once approved, Elementary Education doctoral students can begin any semester they wish.  Or, you may take up to 12 hours while your application is pending. Contact Dr. Wayne Linek at Wayne_Linek@tamu-commerce.edu for more information.
