-
Select Local printer attached to this computer and uncheck the box
that says Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer.
Then select the Next button.
-
Select Create a new port, and Standard TCP/IP port from the drop-down.
-
Select next on the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard
-
Type in the TCP/IP printer hostname. This information can be obtained
from Technology Services if you do not know it. If you type in the
printer name, it will fill in the port name automatically. (The example
here will not work, because there is no printer with the name ctislj.)
-
You may not see this box, but iff you do, just select Next.
-
The TCP/IP Printer Port wizard will complete. Select Finish.
-
Select your make and model of printer. You may have to use the Have disk
option if you do not have the right drivers already installed.
-
You may not see this screen. If you do, select Next.
-
Give your printer a local name. The default is to use the make and model of
the printer. If you have many similar printers, you may want to use a description
like "Secretary's Desk" or "Department Head's office." You may also select whether
this is your default printer. Then select Next.
-
Do not share your printer. Setup the network printer on each machine individually,
and don't worry about sharing. Then select Next.
-
Print a test page if you like. Then select Next.
-
You have finished, so press Finish.
