Go to the computer to which the printer is attached.
Right click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and select Properties.
Go to the Computer Name tab and look for the name of the computer. It will usually have this format: computername.tamu-commerce.edu. You need the part BEFORE the .tamu etc. Write this down and close the window.
Go to a computer that you want to have access to this printer. Make sure you are logged onto the CTIS domain AS THE PERSON YOU WISH TO HAVE ACCESS.
Go to Start > Run > and type \\computername (where computername represents the name of the computer you just wrote down. Press OK.
It should bring up a window (hopefully) and that window will have a printer icon in it. This may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or three. If you receive a message that the computer cannot be found, you may need to call Technology Services to place a work order.
When you see the printer icon, double click the icon of the printer you wish to access. Unless you get an error, you’re done and will be able to print to this printer from this computer. It's a good idea to double check by sending a test page to the printer.
On the Printer menu, click Properties.
On the General tab, select Print Test Page.
Check the printer to make sure the test print was successful.
Caveat: Windows 98 and ME systems are problematic with this.
Even with XP systems, you may need to reboot a time or 3 to get it to work.
